The museum stems from the collection of the antique dealer Piet Scheltema, who started collecting Dutch model trains in 1977. Scheltema grew over the years as a well-known figure at fairs and auctions and the collection grew.

This impressive collection can be admired in the museum today. With over 10,000 models, which are always shown in temporary exhibitions, it is the largest collection of Dutch model trains in Europe. Here you can operate the moving lanes yourself. Have you always wanted to ride the HSL?

That is also possible here, and on the computer! A visit to the museum is fun and educational for young and old. In addition, new themed exhibitions can be seen regularly. Stay up to date with our free newsletter!
