Visit a lady from a wealthy regent family. In Museum Paulina Maria Bisdom van Vliet, time has stood still for almost 100 years. Wandering from room to room, old clocks tick away the hours.

Experience the wealth of the 19th century. The museum is attractively decorated and shows the wealth of a wealthy family. The Diocese van Vliet family had an influential position within regional politics. In every room the wealth is reflected in the furniture, paintings and elaborately decorated curtains. The house gives you a special insight into the home of a wealthy Dutch family in the 19th century.

Paulina Maria Diocese of Vliet
The last resident of the house was Paulina le Fèvre de Montigny – Diocese of Vliet. Paulina’s father and grandfather had both been mayor of Haastrecht. Paulina was a socially involved woman. She founded a girls’ school and supported numerous associations in Haastrecht. When Paulina died in 1923, the house became a museum. To this day, nothing has changed in the interior of the house.
