Route by public transport ↗Amsterdam's beach, bison in the dunes and a race circuit.
2 museumsZandvoort is Amsterdam's beach: half an hour by train and your feet are in the sea. But the village has a story too, from fishermen and beachcombers to bathers and racing cars. And in the dunes next door, European bison roam.
From Amsterdam Centraal the train runs directly to Zandvoort aan Zee in approx. 30 minutes, and from Haarlem in approx. 10 minutes. The station is close to the beach. The Zandvoorts Museum shows how the fishing village became a seaside resort. The Juttersmu-Zee-um shows everything the sea washes up, and what beachcombers did with it. Circuit Zandvoort lies in the dunes, with Formula 1 on its calendar. North of the village begins Zuid-Kennemerland National Park, where bison, Highland cattle and Konik horses graze.
