The Dutch Tile Museum shows the largest and most versatile collection of Dutch wall tiles and tile pictures from the late Middle Ages to contemporary ceramics. A unique and historically important collection of a special branch of Dutch design.

While walking through there museum you will encounter the history and origin of the tile: of the emergence between 1580 and 1625, via the later increase in scale due to the emergence of more tile bakeries up to and including the influence of more large-scale industrial techniques.

The tile is still under development. In the museum you will find Art Nouveau and Art Deco tiles as well as those of twentieth-century artists such as Maurits Escher and Karel Appel.
