The Hannemahuis is one of the earliest houses in the Harlingen city center. The oldest parts date from the mid-16th century. In the first half of the 18th century the house was inhabited by the Scheltema family and because daughter Lijsbet married Sjoerd Hannema in 1743, the house came into the possession of the Hannema’s.
