The Stichting Ice Ages museum in the vilage Buitenpost was founded by a number of archaeologists and geologists.
Ice Ages period have left their traces in the landscape of the Northern Netherlands and have brought along and left mud, sand and stones. The Ice Ages shaped the landscape through large glaciers, melting rivers and sediments. In the Ice Age Museum, the objects in the exhibits tell all about it.
